Personal Platform (malith.live)
Sole engineer — architecture, backend, frontend, infrastructure and deployment.
Problem: I wanted to own a personal site that was a real engineering artefact rather than a template: something with its own API, database and deployment pipeline that I would have to operate, not just publish.
Impact: Live in production on AWS, serving content, recommendations and a subscription flow from a Go API across 12 domain modules with 32 test suites, backed by PostgreSQLwith six versioned migrations and a Next.js 16 frontend.

Problem: Sri Lankan readers split across Sinhala, Tamil and English, and a small newsroom needs to publish to all three without tripling the work. It also needs daily public data like exchange rates and lottery results, on a budget a startup newsroom can carry.
Impact: A Go API and Next.js 16 site serving three language editions, with a newsroom covering stories, wire copy, CBSL exchange rates,lottery results and an almanac. Editions are translated with Claude, staff sign in with two-step authentication, and a staging environment on AWS is redeployed by GitHub Actions on every merge, with automatic rollback if a release fails its health check. Production launch in progress.
